here's where you stand.
Spend your time where the points are.
The exam is weighted heavily toward Structural Linguistics (30%). Master the six syllable types, syllable division, spelling rules, and the layers of English first — then Language Development, Dyslexia, and MSLE Strategies (15% each). The last four domains are only 25% combined, but they're easy points.

02Practice Exam
Questions spread across the domains in roughly blueprint proportion. Pick a focus or take the whole set — it's shuffled each time.
Tip: 75 questions = real CALT exam length. 25 = good lunch-break drill. Try the ★ Official ALTA Samples set first — those 10 questions are reproduced from the ALTA Candidate Handbook (rev. 8/2025) public sample materials for study use. All other questions are original practice items written for this tool.
03Skill Drill
Pure repetition practice. Pick a skill — questions are generated on the fly from a large word bank, so every session pulls fresh examples. Doesn't affect mastery chips or exam history; this is for fluency-building.
Tip: Practice mode shows explanations after each answer (good for learning). Timed mode auto-advances after a flash of feedback (good for fluency-checking). Endless mode goes until you tap End drill. Best scores save automatically per skill + mode.
